We were at Badger Kart Club today, with 27 karts in our class. Higher than usual, but not unheard of. People compared today to a national race.
In practice I tried to start in the back with how many people were racing with us. I was in a pack, and I was able to pass a few people. I only had 5 laps, and I wasn’t able to get a lap on my own.
I started qualifying in P25. Today we had 3 laps to get a good time. I was on my own, but I was gaining on the kart in front of me. I ended up in P21. There was a DQ, so I qualified P20.
We had a prefinal, which wasn’t quite as chaotic as we thought. It was 7 laps of just bump drafting and passing. I finished in P16 after starting in P20.
The final was a little rough, everyone got excited to start, which resulted in us having to take a second pace lap. There were wrecks everywhere, the whole twelve laps. I passed a little, bump drafted a little, and I was following lines of the people in front of me to try to gain time. I came out P13.

It was quite a day for me, better than we were expecting - either P20, or wreck out - and I still get to race on Tuesday.
