Raceday Update: 6/28 Badger Kart Club

We started off with 25 drivers today. We were at Badger Kart Club, and the only reason we raced today was because we wanted to see how down on power I really was with my old engine. We also started in the back all day, just to try out the new engine.

Practice was normal, everyone was calm, no wrecks, and good lap times. In the heat races, we probably had the most chaos all day. People were going off track, bumping all over. I was lucky enough to have finished clean, dedicated to making the day about working on passing, lap times, and learning about the new engine.

In the feature, we didn’t start last, but I was close enough, so we stayed where we were supposed to be. I started in P21 and finished in P18. I worked a lot on passing and trying to be more comfortable on track.

Today I learned a lot. I learned how to drive my kart differently, with my new engine. I also learned some good spots to pass people on track.

After any setup change, you have to change how you drive. The engine swap was the biggest setup change. It was such a big change that we dedicated the whole day to learning how to drive with it.

We finished the day satisfied. Because 24 hours ago, we weren’t sure if we were going to get to race for months.
