Another Tuesday night race at Road America. We had 13 today. On our way up, there was some rain by the track. When we got there, they were just getting ready to start.
Last night, my dad and I worked late to get fresh tires on my kart. We knew my old tires were ready to go, and we wanted to see if it would make an impact on my lap times.
We only had one practice today. My lap times were a lot better than we thought they would be. Next was qualifying.
I started qualifying in P6. After two laps, I was able to get a lap time that would start me in P6 for the first heat race.
There was a dice roll for the top 6. They rolled a 6, which would put me starting P1 for the first heat. I decided to stay where I was. On the start, I was going 3 wide and 2 wide into corners. By lap 2, we were sorted out. I finished in P6.
We started the second heat in the positions that we finished the first heat in. I started in P6. The start was a little rough, people were kind of all over the place, but we got it sorted out. I got a new personal best time. I kept my position, and stayed in P6.

Then the feature started, so I needed to focus. I started in P6. The race went well, with me leading the mid pack the whole race. I wasn’t quite able to get to my fastest time, I was two tenths of a second off. I finished the race in P6.
We went into today hoping for P9, and we came out with our best finish ever!
